Anti-bedsore cushions and mattresses

When many hours are spent sitting or in bed, constant pressure on the same areas can cause pressure ulcers, known as bedsores. Anti-bedsore cushions and mattresses spread that pressure and encourage circulation to prevent them appearing and to care for those already there.

We carry viscoelastic and air cushions for wheelchairs or armchairs, viscoelastic mattresses and alternating-air mattresses with a pump for bedridden people. The choice depends on the risk, the weight and the hours spent resting on the area; preventing is not the same as treating an ulcer that has already formed.

In store we assess the case with you and with the carer, and explain how to combine these with regular repositioning so they really work.
